Hello Xymox. I just bought your new CD "Live", and I would like to thank all
of you for the choice of places where the shows have done, included on album.
I've felt very grateful and happy when I saw some pictures from my city inside
the CD. I'll never forget your concert here and I hope that the band come again
in the next tour. Long life to Clan of Xymox !!!!! Please, continue doing beautiful
songs. All of us here in Brasil love you so much !!!! By heart from your fan:

Hi my name is Jose and I am a radio host in Quebec City, Canada ( 2 hours from Montreal ) . I saw the band in Montreal last year and also met them. I did an interview with Colin and everybody was very nice. The show was awesome ! I play Clan of Xymox songs every week on my show and the response is tremendous. It would be great if you would come to Quebec City for your next tour. I could promote your show on the air and give a few tickets. I am sure that you would have as many people here as you did in Montreal and even more !

JUST A QUICK NOTE TO LET YOU KNOW YOUR NEW LIVE CD IS A MASTERPIECE....... EXCELLENT SOUND AND SELECTION OF GREAT CLAN SONGS.... I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN MY ADVANCE ORDER ARRIVED, AND COULD NOT WAIT TO BLAST THE SOUND OF ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE BANDS. AS A FORMER INDUSTRIAL DJ IN CHICAGO, I WOULD ALWAYS CAPTURE THE CROWDS WITH INCORPORATING THE SOUNDS OF XYMOX. ANY CHANCE A DVD OR LIVE VIDEO AVAILABLE FOR SALE? ANY DATES IN THE FUTURE FOR CHICAGO AGAIN? ( I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED WHEN THE SHOW WAS CANCELED LAST YEAR) ONCE AGAIN GREAT JOB AND KEEP UP THE TALENTS YOU ALL HAVE....... JOHN SHOCK

Dear beautiful Mojca (don't kill me for that:-) I don't think you remember me. I'm your polish fan. We spoke in Proxima on Sunday, I was wearing a nail collar and a red bra and I was quite nervous. We left the club together. Your concert in Poland was really great! I was very happy because of Stranger, Louise, Waterfront... well, everything made me filling exited & heavenly. I'm sad that I had no possibility to speak with you on Monday. You spent all the time backstage and even Phil couldn't take me there. I was white-wear and standing in the first row. I hope that you will be able to play in Gdansk some day. What do you think about Fading Colours concert? I was sad because it was so short.:-(((( De Coy is now the best polish vocalist for me. Thank you for being so nice and friendly. It was one of the most important days in my whole young life.

Ronny- I must first thank you for the brilliant live CD. This amazing piece of art immediately inspired me in several ways. I must thank you again for the music. You are a rock of sanity in a sea of shit. Thank you. Robert Johnson

HELLO. MY NAME IS RICHI AND I AM FROM LIMA , THE CAPITAL OF PERU. PERU IS A COUNTRY NEAR CHILE. HERE, THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOUR MUSIC SINCE LONG TIME AGO. I HAVE HEARD YOUR MUSIC SINCE 1986. IN THAT TIME WE ONLY COULD GET YOUR MUSIC BY TAPES WHICH ONES WERE ILEGAL COPIES OF VINILS. IN LIMA, ALL THE NEW WAVE >ARRIVED, AT FIRST, BY PUNK MUSIC AND THEN, IT CHANGED. MANY GROUPS OF DIFFERENT STYLES COULD BE HEARD BY US >AND "CLAN OF XYMOX" WAS ONE OF THEM. LIMA IS A "MONACAL" PLACE, ITS SKY IS PERMANENTLY GREY AND SAD >ENVIROMENTAL. LIMA HAS A FEW PLACES WHERE YOUR MUSIC IS PLAYED "CALLED "CLUBS" IN ANOTHERS COUNTRIES". EVERY WEEKEND THERE ARE PARTIES IN THOSE PLACES, OF COURSE IT ISN'T THE SAME THAN THOSE YEARS IN WHICH ALL THE MOVEMENT WAS HARD AND REALLY BEAUTIFUL. >I SEND YOU THIS E-MAIL TO TELL SOMETHING OF THIS CITY AND ONE PART OF ITS PEOPLE. I REALLY WANT TO TELL YOU >MORE THAN I AND OTHER THINGS. I KNOW THAT YOU WILL MAKE A SHOW IN CHILE AND I WANT TO ASK YOU, IF IT IS POSSIBLE, COME TO LIMA AND BE THE FIRST "REAL CULT BAND" OF PLAYING HERE. NOWADAYS, WE KNOW ALL YOUR ALBUMS FROM "SUBSEQUENT PLEASURES" TO THE SOPHISTICATED "CREATURES". I WILL WRITE YOU AGAIN, SEE YOU...

HELLO!!! Thank you for the very nice live-cd. I never had the chance to visit one of your concerts, because I got to know XYMOX first in 1999. I«m from Germany >and when ever you«ve been touring here (wave-gothic-meeting, herbstnþchte...) I was at/in(?)(sorry for my English) holiday or the concert didn«t take place (wave-gothic-meeting). So I«m happy about the release of this cd and I hope more than before to see you live!!!! Goodbye says Matthias from Leipzig/Germany :o)

Dearest Ronny, My name is Thierry FOURNIOL, 31, and I live near Lyon, France, and tomorrow saturday december 4, I will go to Strasbourg to see you in concert ('Heaven's gate festival, La Laiterie'). >1,000 kilometers by train with my father Jacky, 57, to see Clan of Xymox in concert !!! I saw you in Grenoble ('Le Summum') 10 years ago during the 'Twist of Shadows tour'. You were great ! And since then, I have dreamed to see you again on stage. Since I discovered you in 1987, you're my favourite band. I also like And Also The Trees, Cocteau Twins, Kat Onoma, Yann Tiersen... but you're very special to me... and to us. 'Creatures' is a great album, as dark as 'Medusa' but with a more powerful sound. Your web site is very interesting and beautiful. Maybe we'll find time to speak a bit together tomorrow. I'm sure you'll be wonderful in Strasbourg... with the 'new' members of the band, including the excellent Mojca. Note : an official live album would be a good idea, a special gift for all your fans... Thanks for all and giving us 'All You Have'.
Greetings with admiration, Thierry

May I just tell you all that your music is SO beautiful to me, I just wanted to write this brief e-mail to let you know. I also wanted to thank you SO MUCH for your music, so much of it puts me in such a beautiful place that I know of very little else (if anything at all) that can do this nearly as well. I am currently listening to Twist of Shadows, probably my favorite album by Xymox/Clan of Xymox to date. Please inform me as to the next time you plan on touring the States, in particular San Francisco/Northern California. Thank you so much, love Glen.

Hello. I just wanted to tell you that you put on a great show in Detroit Michigan. Mojca you are very very beautiful. Please let me know if you are coming back to Michigan again. Farewell..... Brandie

Xymox/Clan of Xymox has become one of my all-time favorites since the addition of your latest two, best two?, CDs to my collection. "Hidden Faces", with "The Child in Me", "It's All a Lie", "The Story Ends", "This World", "Your Vice", and "Out of the Rain", is just plain great. Probably my favorite of your discography. I'm still trying to figure out "Creatures", although, to me, that CD contains three of your best songs--"Crucified", "Consolation", and "Creature". Until last month, I only had "Phoenix", "Twist of Shadows", and "Headclouds".Saw you all in Columbus,Ohio twice while you were supporting "Phoenix". I might just have to check you out when you're in my neck of the woods again. Looking forward to adding "Clan of Xymox" and "Medusa" this week. Not sure about "Subsequent Pleasures" yet. I have yet to find it in a shop.

I just wanted to thank you for such rich and intricate music in a world full of [aweful pop]... Ez

I talked to you (Ronny) on a radio showand anyway I can«t believe I met you and Talk to you!! keep up the dark look. ( and the good work too) I'd love to see you again. Bye

Hello!, I«m from CHILE, you comming a this country, in the end of the world. FOREVER your show in the Club Blondie. Thanks!, for you visit. Thanks for a lovely concert in Krefeld/ Germany "Kulturfabrik" in October 1999! Kirlian Camera were horrible! Love to all, Tanja May I just tell you all that your music is SO beautiful to me, I just wanted to write this brief e-mail to let you know. I also wanted to thank you SO MUCH for your music, so much of it puts me in such a beautiful place that I know of very little else (if anything at all) that can do this nearly as well. Hello, we wish you a successful und happy new year 2000. We hope to see you again at ZILLO-Festival . Rainer and Sandra Hi, I have a question for Ronny, I don`t know if it will be answered but at least I try. Some of his lyrics have a nostalgic mood and others talk about love... I would like to know, what does he think is the best solution for a broken heart? That would be interesting.....thanks!

I have been a devoted listener since 1980 when I heard Muscovite Mosquito on the Lonely is an Eyesore compilation. Followed then are the albums Clan of and Medusa, still two of my favorites. I don't think it is real common to come across someone like me anymore, at least not in Denver. I mean sure there are lots of Xymox fans, anyone who knows good music would be. But I have been along for the ride since day one. Being inspired greatly by the band. I remember seeing the tour for Twist of at Rock Island here in Denver with MOEV, the first time I got to see Xymox live. I was blown away, I never thought I would see the day that another band could top my list over Depeche Mode, but ever since Twist of they (DM)have taken seat #2. When I finally got my hands on a copy of Creatures I wasn't to sure what to think. I was relieved that Clan of had returned, I thought Ronny was missing something with Headclouds and Metamorphosis (both good albums!). Now after a few months the Creatures album has really grown on me, I love it. Just like I love Medusa. I just have a question about one song in particular that Anka wrote from >Pheonix. > >The question is this: On Pheonix the song Smile Like Heaven, what is the subject of this song? A painting on a wall? A painting of what? I have my own ideas about the meaning, just like all Xymox songs. But I would really like to know what specifically she is talking about. That song has been a huge inspiration to me when working on a particular >portrait (I'm a portrait artist) and I would really love to know it's origin. My favorite Xymox songs you ask? Clementia, Back Door, Louise, A Day, Believe Me Sometimes, and more recently Undermined I don't think I have heard a single Xymox song I didn't love, there are a few on subsequent Pleasures that I can't fully understand but that's about it. Ronny, keep up the good work, there are people like me out here who will always be following your music. I was pretty upset when it looked like the band was through forever. Just like I was pretty upset when Dave G. died and DM was splitting up. Please let me know, any information would be greatly appreciated. Your best work has come with time..... Thank You Jamie Fortune 410@lerchbates.com
P.S. here is a link to my website, you can see some examples of my artwork there amongst all the other junk...

Dear Clan of Xymox, My name is Barbara, I am a fan from Barcelona. All my friends and I are looking forward to see you playing in our city by the end of this month. Unfortunately it seems that the tickets for your concert are not on sale yet, and there are some rumors of cancelation of your concert. I would like to ask you please for me and all your fans in Spain and >Barcelona to not cancel the concert as we are looking forward to see you playing here as we have never been able to see you here in Barcelona. > >I know your tour in Mexico has been a great success, I believe the spanish people wont deceive you either if you finally come to Barcelona. I don't expect an e-mail back, but I hope that we will be able to see you in your concert. love, Barbara

I listen to you since 1987. I'm not an hardcore fan of Gothic Style Music but albums like "Clan Of Xymox", "Medusa" or "Twist Of Shadows" will be in my memory for a long years. I particulary enjoyed "Clan Of..." and its "analog sound". All this songs were be an influence for the musician I am. Could you give me some informations about the recordings sessions of this album and about recording equipment and instruments you have used? During all this time, I listened to your music without putting a face on. I recently discovered your web site. It is great to know you still are in activity. It was not the same for all the 80's bands I enjoyed. So I wanted to know if you plan to come playing in Paris... Buck

Hi- >I have been a huge fan for like 12 years now, and have been listening to the first 3 records again at work daily now, and have a decent midi setup now in my studio that I would like to use to get more into this type of music ( I have been in rock bands since puberty - playing bass and guitar.) I had a band similar in spirit to Xymox in high school, where I wrote and did all the sequencing, but not on the computer - but rather with a with a Korg >DDD-1 and SQD-1 and a Roland D10 and Yamaha FB-01. Our latest band had been doing alot of samples live with a drumkat to more sound more like the record which is chock full of samples, and our songwriter was doing a lot of the record's arrangement by sequencing it on vision and gave me a copy of the program to play with (I had been doing all hard disk recording with DECK rather than sequencing, since I have no adat's, but a sweet Macintosh and a >jaz drive) ...so ANYWAY, sorry to babble, but I feel a little daunted about the best way to get started composing midi music with the depth and beauty of your music (With my own flavor and style of course!) You have so many amazing sounds, and I was wondering - where do you find most of your sounds that are not synth based? CD's ? Samples? Do you program drum loops individually hit-by-hit in a software sequencer, or using a drum machine? (I have a boss DR-550 MkII which has great sounds that I'd like to use). Do you use software when you make records, like Medusa, or Twist of Shadows? I LOVE these records, and want to learn desperately to create rich, beautiful songs like this...was hoping Ronny or anyone in the band would have 5 minutes to give me some pointers, or suggestions for sounds, and software best to create with...I have a D-110 synth module, Vision, Cubase, a Fatar SL-161 midi controller, a multifx (zoom) processor, mackie board, sansamp GT-2 >guitar box,etc..hooked up to my mac...Cubase looks the most user friendly...I have it all setup and working - I can figure out the rest as far as how to record it, but, its the writing that i'd love pointers on...Do you write as a band or is it mostly just Ronny? (In the band i'm in now, i'm just the bassist, and we have one writer)...anyone ever ask you this stuff? I read so many comments from people saying how down to earth you are, and as a musician myself, among a community of musicians, I think that is great..so I thought I wouldn't be dreaming to ask this type of question and maybe get a response....if you want to check us out, we are at >www.supple.com. And my own silly pop songs that I record on the side are at www.supple.com/adam. Now, I must go listen to Back Door again, so I am off...BTW, please let me know,if nothing else, when you are coming back to NYC to play.I can't believe I missed the last tour.... :( THANKS

Could you tell me if you will come to France in 2000, and if it's ok where and when! Pease not only in Paris, because there is not only this town in France. A Good choice will be midle geographic choice liKe Lyon ( I don't tell that because i'm in Lyon ! Just a litle!! but it is easy and less expansive for a lot a people in france if it is in the center of France! ) I hope to read you "one day" Thanks !

Hello, First I want to say that your Medusa album changed the way I think about music. You have been one of my greatest influences. Now for the stupid question: I am an unsigned artist whose work can be heard at www.mp3.com/electronium. The question is, would you consider doing a remix for an artist like myself, or would you consider giving me the opportunity to remix something of yours? I am currently putting together a CD single for one of my songs which will feature several remixes by different artists & DJs. I know it's a long shot, but considering how much I've always admired you, I just had to ask. Thanks for your time.. Good luck in all you pursue,
Mike Brown

Hi, Xymox's I like to thank you for a concert in Bratislava in August, 1999. I liked it very much, you're so great, I have all your albums, except Subsequent Pleasures. I would like to ask you, if you wanna make the concert in Bratislava again, or in Prague in Czech Republic. I tried to read it on your official www, but I could not find it. Thanx, Juraj, Slovakia atis@tt.psg.sk P.S. Your drummer on a concert was perfect, I think he's a genius. Perfect. P.S.S. How did you spend the night after concert in Duna gallery??? nice for the peolpe who admires you so much.
*
Ronny, we love your voice...!!!! We are looking forward to seeing you soon again. Thanks!!!!! Mariana and Walter.
*
Ronny...Your voice makes me shudder , makes me sink in a infinite desire of self-destruction and romanticism...It hypnotized me : I can't stay more than a minute without listen to it . I am writing to you because I want that you are the first person to know about my imminent death . I have decided to finish my senseless life throwing myself in the river , as sweet Ophelia did...I am to much fragile to live in this cruel and violent world . I will reach my Love , who was killed by the drug two months ago(you have known him). I want it is you the only one who knows that I am died , as a matter of fact nobody will look for me . I will bring with me the memory of that night at "Alpheus" of Rome , when during your concert(do you remember it?)my eyes met his ones for the first time . I borned and I died in the same instant.
*
Hey Ronny, just a short note to thank you for the great show on Friday 17 here in Santiago de Chile. As you could see, the crowd had a great time and so did I. Hope to send you some pictures of the show soon with Patricio and I'm sure you'll find that video tape interesting too, as a document I mean. Best of lucks to you and the band, and I wish year 2000 is even better for you ! Christian Landaeta Chile

You are one of my favorite bands. The others are Cocteau Twins, OMD, and
Jean Michel Jarre. (I love the Revolutions sample on Metamorphis) I
have played in an orchestra and compose music and I appreciate fully your formidable
talent. Anka should sing more! See you in San Diego. Is there any way I could
meet you? I've
been a dedicated fan since around 1990. Wow, nine years solid! First album was
Twist of
Shadows. Favorite album? Hard decision. Medusa and Phoenix are probably tied,
Shadows close second.

I was so engulfed by the perfection of your show here on Halloween. I have
never once thought I would get a chance to witness it live, and
thank you! thank you! for coming
here, finally. It must have been strange, indeed, to play for people
in costume like that, as if in a
dream, I am sure it was slightly amusing. I apologise for being so
shy that I could not do more
than stare at you 5 as you watched Diary of Dreams play...I looked
for words to say but found
none. I absoluetly love Twisted Shadows...I was lucky enough to have
found it in the used
section of a little store here a few years ago. The rest, I am
afraid, are very hard to find, but I have
promised myself I will obtain them all :) My birthday is Feb.1st..I
haven't a clue why on earth
you'd like to know...and lets see...what else..OH address...hmm...

able to have them live this month in our Capital City. This will be
a show to remember.

Hello! I found out about the band one day after hearing for years about their
name in the pen pal underground scene. I picked up a copy of
"Phoenix" and "Twist of Shadows" and loved it ever since.
I am getting everyone I know into
them. Unfortunately, I missed the last performance here in the states and am
hoping that
they indeed will come back to the states to tour.

To Clan of Xymox,
I just had to take advantage of this provided e-mail address to send
you a few words of support all the way from Atlanta, Georgia. Hidden
Faces is absolutely a great recording and in my mind, is your first to
rival Twist of Shadows as the best work yet. Not to throw negative
comments towards the other work, I have always been close to your
debut album as well as Medusa, but Twist has always been one of my
all-time favorite albums from the hundreds I have in my collection.
Hidden Faces just seems to musically come together as a package so
well, I have not been able to take it out of my CD player for a week
now. I thought I would also mention that I really enjoyed your show
here (yeah, way back in 1989!) with Moev. Actually, Moev's vocalist,
Dean Russell, came down to talk to me after their set and seemed to be
rather aggressive towards you guys during the show. Despite the harsh
comments being traded between Dean and your guitarist, it was a great
show on both sides. I only regret that this seems to have been the
only time you have played here since I moved here in 1986. I am soon
moving to Mannheim, Germany so I hope if you have plans for touring
for the new album, I can catch one of the European dates. Although I
am no longer involved in the music industry, I still love to keep up
with the business. Good luck with any future projects.

To Ronny:
I want to thank you for your music. I first discovered Clan of Xymox on
"Lonely is an Eyesore" and your first 4ad album (both vinyl... i love
every scratch.) Those and subsequent recordings have always been a great
comfort to me, and have done much to influence my own musical projects.
You are doing wonderful things with your time on earth, Ronny, and I
wanted to let you know that you are appreciated. Best wishes to you and
the current Xymox.

I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, and I have been waiting in agony to see Xymox in
concert again. I saw your Phoenix gig at Bogarts and you were excellent. I am
really upset now that I know that you played in Cincinnati on November 3 and
I
had no idea!!!! What makes things worse is that Vertigo is a 2 minute walk
from my appartment!!!!!! You guys were practically in my living room. The
funny thing is that I had been going into Wizard's Records (the prominant
import record retailer in Cincinnati) everyday to check the status of their
clan of xymox stock as I had been waiting for Hidden Faces to arrive, and the
owner never mentioned anything about a concert. I also didn't see any
advertisement for the show anywhere!! I would have given anything to see that
show (first born child, etc...), and now I cannot. Anyway, I should stop
sobbing and get to the point...do you plan on returning to the states any time
soon? Was there a Metamorphosis or a Headclouds tour that I missed as well?
I
would really like to see you play again.
Your Fan (kicking himself),
Brad Johnson
( don't kick yourself, because we did not do a show there!)

Hi,
I've enjoyed Xymox's music for over a decade now and it came as
joy to me to discover you had released a new, and probably your
best, album. It is pleasing to know
you are still releasing some of the most beautiful music ever produced!
I wish you all the best for 1998.
Yours,
Adam Sykes

Hi there,
I have been listen to you since your first 4ad release; i love medusa's
songs and all the material after that, (Phoenix, Twist of shadows,
Metamorphosis, etc.).
Now i'm listening this new release (Hidden Faces), it was a surpirse to
hear about you again; is a great album with great songs; thank you for all
your music and for all those dreams make true.
A devotee from Mexico City, living in USA,

Hi.
I have Medusa, Phoenix and Twist of Shadows in my collection for a very
long time now, but I never knew Xymox were such an institution, nor did I
know the history or anything about the band.
I live just a spit from Tel Aviv, Israel, and I truly love these albums,
So here's a small question, just so I could know where to go if I would
want to see you play. Are you more succesful in the US than in Europe ?
I've learned that the American market is completely different than the
European, which is a shame, as I prefer to see you perform somewhere in
Europe. Have you any plans of arriving to Israel ? I can assume not, but
do write me if you can aout your plans for the near future. Israel, by
the way, is a good place to film a video.
All the best.
Seffy Efrati ,Hezeliyah, Israel.

I've been a fan for years. Glad to see you're back with a new CD. It's
wonderful! Hopefully, I'll be able to see you live if you come by this way
(North Carolina). Last time you played here was in 1989 in Chapel Hill with
Moev but that showed got cancelled for whatever reasons. Tried to get on your
mailing list but couldn't. Send me any information on future releases
(Sobastiana @ aol.com). Also, I've been DJing at clubs for 9 years and
"Imagination" and "Scum" have always been favorites. Have
a great day! Hope
to hear from you soon.

I have been a fan of xymox since the first 4a.d. release and just
now seen actual pictures of you and found real info. on the band. I am
sooooo happy:) I'm glad to see you've returned to a similar sound that
you had in your early days , I can't say I truely appreciated the dance
material, but completely understand the need of experimentation in
music. One genre can become so confining and sometimes become a prison;
st to speak. Irregardless I own all your releases and was quite happy to
recently find , by accident, your new album. You see, here in America
it was popularly thought that you had dismembered after metamorphous.
Considering I saw or heard nothing on xymox for an extended period of
time I assumed it was true. But happily I was wrong, I was doing the
after christmas sorting and cleaning of the record store I work in and
unfortunately found the release buried in the various X section. Tears
of joy ran down my face as I ran to the CD player so I could hear this
new creation. Needless to say it was like great sex and I've been
playing it ever since. I know you don't worry
about sales', but I don't work in a record store for sales. I work
there so I can find different musical "experiences":; which is what
I
like to call every album I listen to. I inturn share these experiences
with others. I push smaller label material and anything other than top
40; that stuff sells itself(YUK). Of the Clan of Xymox experience I've
sold many and each person I intoduced to this experience has come back
to buy more material. Hell I have everyone from the yuppie down the
street to the marilyn manson wanna be listening to Xymox. Point being,
all I want is some promo material so I can continue introducing people
to that experience. You see, I'm not supposed to play anything in my
store that is not a promo copy:; needless to say I've been sneaking the
new recording and other back catalogue into the store so I can hear it
and also have other people hear it. I noticed in small print on the inside
cover of the album your web address( I was too busy trying to figure out
the cool pictures on the inside jacket to look at anything else in the
sleeve) So here I am. I'm happy I found it because now I've found a lot
of info. on the band:)!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well i have to go for now. I wish you all well and can,t express
enough how happy I am that Clan of Xymox is still making music:)

Howdy! Greetings from Ohio, the heart of staunch midwestern
conservatism. I just wanted to let you know how much I'm enjoying Hidden
Faces-- I've been a convert since I first heard 'A Day' when COX first came
out. Good to see you're back in that vibe again (although I must say I
also liked Headclouds a lot, too). Anyway, thanks for doing what you do &
I hope you keep it up for years to come. Something you might want to
consider for the web page-- how about a gear list detailing what
synths/equipment you used for each release? It would help keep the geekier
element of your fan base (like myself) off the streets. Mucho thanks for
all the great music, spook
*
Dear Ronny,
How are you? Being a friend of Clan Of Xymox since
its debut 4AD album, I'm really glad I bought "Hidden
Faces". I wouldn't say it's a comeback album like
everyone else said, but after "Metamorphysis" and
"Headcloud", "Hidden Faces" gives us old fans a lot
of comfort and sweet memories. Keep it up a good work,
*
I think "Out Of The Rain" is a very good choice as the
1st single for "Hidden Faces". Do you have plans to release
2nd or even 3rd single? My suggestion would be "This World",
"The Child in Me" and/or "Hypocrite".
Please keep in touch, as you have wooed back another loyal fan.
Yours truly,
Colin K. LIU, Hong Kong.
*
Just wanted to say that your albums have always helped make me look at
things in a different motif. Ever since I first heard a track from Twist
of Shadows, I have been very interested in the sound of Clan of Xymox.
Your albums are always different. When a new one comes out, I go to the
store and buy it but I'm not sure of what it will sound like. That's what
makes Clan of Xymox interesting. Too many bands rely on their sound and
old sequenced phrases. That gets old. You're different. Thanks for the
gift of your music. As Kurt Vonegut has written, "all music is sacred".

Hi Clan of Xymox!
As always, I took a look at your pages, and then I noticed, that I
haven't send you a mail with my opinion and suggestions.
But at first, thanx very much for the technical info on 'Subsequent
pleasures'! Is there a chance to put up the lyrics for that one as well?
Oh, and another thing, there is a rumour going round (and round...) that
Clan of Xymox will play at
the Pleasure and Pain Festivals over here in Germany? This was mentioned
in the tourdates of recent issues of Bodystyler and Orkus. Is this true?
If not (which I think will be true???), is there a chance for any more
concerts in the north of
Germany (e.g. Hamburg or Kiel or...), I have to see the band again! Last
years show in Hamburg was one of the best concerts I have ever been to!
Some suggestions for your page: I know that you have a database of fan
e-mail adresses (including
mine) isn't it possible to drop a line (kind of update service) every
time there is sth. important (like
new tourdates or webpage updates)? That would be great. ANd another
suggestion: why not putting
up a page, where fans can write their reviews of concerts? It would be
interesting to share views with other Clan of Xymox fans. Or a mailing list?
And what about some media cuttings from interviews, cause I don't think
the fans will have the chance to read every article in every mag.
Alright, that should be all, and remember, these are only suggestions it
should not say, that I don't
like the page, I really like it, but these things could even make it
more enjoyable!
Greetinx from Germany, Dennis Ohrt
*
PS: Please get your stuff packed and do us northern Germans a favour and
play some more gigs!
PS2: I read in Orkus magazine, that the next single will be 'This
world', when will it be released and what will be the other stuff on it?
*
Hello, first I want to say that Hidden Faces is an excellent album, I
have Medusa and Twist of Shadows which are also very good. I was
wondering if Xymox is going to tour north america. I live in Tijuana,
Mexico, and I got a chance to see xymox live in the twist of shadows
tour here in Tijuana, at a Club called "Iguanas". Any way, if I could
get information on tour dates in California that would be great.
Giovanni.

I have been a huge fan for the last ten years. You are my single favorite
group and you have been for a long time. I became a fan with "Clan of Xymox"
during college, followed by "Twist of Shadows". I think I currently
have ten
different CDs and I would like to complete my collection. I truely enjoyed
Headclouds and the Remix CD though Metamorphosis is a still favorite for the
office. Your CDs are quite hard to find here in TX USA, fortunately, I am
quite determined. I went to two different cities, about 1200 miles roundtrip
to find Headclouds and Subsequent Pleasures. However, the last two releases
Hidden Faces and Medusa (was that a remake or just a re-release?) required
some extensive WWW searching and mail order.
I am thrilled to see you will be in TX , as Austin is just 45
minutes from San Antonio, my home town. I never thought I would have an
oppotunity to see you in person. Wow.
is there a fan club? GO XYMOX!
Your biggest fan, Holley T.

Hello! I wait for your mail (a little bit impatient - time is a stress factor).
Last week I bought metamorphosis - i'm afraid fans who have copy without
the song "soul free". I think it's the best song on that album.

isin't it? a nice return to darker um, things. happy day

Hello from Finland.
As the subjectline reveals, this is indeed a blatant piece of
fanmail, and not ashamed of it. I found your record 'Medusa'
from a local library and am thankfull for my habit of picking
up titles I've never heard of before.
I am quite the avid fan of such bands as NIN (gee...),
KMFDM, Das Ich, Leaetherstrip, Die Krupps and the Sisters
of Mercy, among others, and I find your records to be something
that I should have had in my collection a long time ago.
When I first listened to Medusa with a friend of mine, we
were at a loss. What was this music? Was this some obscure
spin-off project for Depeche Mode? Was that David Bowie singing
on one track? With no prior knowledge of your music, we were
baffled, but we knew that we definately liked this, whatever it was.
So, this night I surfed the net for any clues, and found
your pages almost instantly, and fine pages they are indeed.
I was quite exhilerated to find the amount of CD's that I'll
now be priviledged to hunt down from the one rave-goth-indie-
industrial-punk recordstore Finland has (Spinefarm). I do
hope they carry stuff from your lable, and knowing their
variety, I am confident they do.
In any case, not to stretch this mail obscenely long, as
I am sure you get plenty of the same even without my
contribution, I'll put this shortly.
Your music has the soul and the life that so many other
bands lack these days. It goes for the soul, but it is not
the sort of angsty crap the world is full of right now. It
has deep emotion without being depressive, I Like it. So
anyway, hope you'll gig in Finland someday, although I
can well understand if you don't. I'll just have to come
down to the Netherlands myself. Smooth runnings!

I have seen you in Paris in December and I did prefer that
gig to the one I had seen in Montpellier in 1989. Anyway, you still have
an important place in my own musical landscape. (Frankly, I felt like a
kid in Paris, remembering the young guy who bought himself Medusa ten
years ago !). Carry on that way.
Yours faithfully, Jean-Philippe Ravier.

i just had to say hello, now that it's possible in this internet age. i first
heard you guys when i was 15 (i'm 26 now) and i remember thinking it was

a tiny
record deal. point is, your music had such a positive affect on me and i
wanted to thank you for that. when you're that young, every bit helps, you
know, and i'm sure there are a shitload of people who share my appreciation
for your work throughout the years. keep 'em coming!! your music is a part of
me, i hold it close to my heart.....

Dear Xymox Web Page,
Thanks for being there in mind space. I've been a fan

Dear friends
Well, my name is Antonis Xagas, I'm 24 years old and I live in Athens in
Greece. I can say that I'm very fond of your music. Especially "Medusa"
has
shared some of my dreamy momemts and darkest jours. I just love your latest
work "Hidden faces"
Me and some other passionate guys, intend to publish in the next months a
"fanzine", a completely independent, non-speculative and hand-made
edition.

Just wanted to write & say that I've been a huge fan since the 80's.
My favorite album used to be medusa, until Hidden Faces came out...
I really hope you get a chance to come to the Seattle area in the U.S.
The main thing I wanted to say is that your music has been a real influence
on mine. I'm sure unknown bands have said this to you before, but this
keyboard player has always love the atmospheric landscapes created by
your music.
Hopefully someday you'll be hearing a completed cover of Cry in the Wind...
Best of Luck, and Thank You!!!

As a personal note: i am truly impressed with the new album, and i wish
you continuing success, and hope to see you when you tour in the usa...

thanks...I finally purchase your new realease "Hidden Faces" after
much anticipation.
I definitely am not dissapointed. I have listened to it over and over
again for a week now and have been fascinated with all the work you must
have put into mastering it.
Unlike many bands who have exsisted for so long,
you have continued to expose new and intriguing layers to your music.
Ive been a fan for a long time and from what Ive heard - continue to be one
for a
long time to come.

Hello. My name is Firmin and I live in America. I just want to say
that you new album Hidden Faces is really, really nice. I really like
your music. I have followed your group since your album Twist of Shadows
back in the late 80's and your music is good. The album was so good,
that I looked really hard to find your previous albums. In over 5 to ten
years I managed to get all the albums except Medusa. I find it very
upsetting that people in America kmow very little of you. Well I'm glad I
did. I always listen to your albums everytime and I would not trade your
music for anything at all.
I enjoy your dark musical style in all your albums because they
are really thought provoking and it helps my imagination go beyond new
horizons. I especially enjoy the melodic keyboard sound of some of your
songs such as in your Twist of Shadows album "Imagination" and your
Subsequent Pleasures album "Stumble and Fall". In your Hidden Faces
album
to me I see that you haven't left your musical style from the 80's too
much and I'm glad because your style is so unique and no other band has
the distinct and beautiful style of music that you guys have.
Anyway, I really like you Hidden Faces album and I'm glad that
Xymox is still around strong and I hope you guys are around for another 50
years. Keep up the good work.
A Clan of Xymox Fan for life

Thanks finally for an insightive look into one of my favourite but
enigmatic bands. To actually see what they finally look like after
purchacing all their music since they started and to realise how popular
they really are, astounds me. Over here in Australia, no one and I mean
NO ONE knows Clan of Xymox, except for my brother, so unfortunately, I
cannot share my joy of knowing that they have FINALLY released a new
album. To actually think that they are going for the old sound, sounds
really exciting. I will be immediately ordering my copy here in
Melbourne straight away. Luckily, there are two really record shops here
that keep me up to date with the outside world.
Also, the song "The Back Door" off the Medusa album is one of my all
time favourite songs. If there are any other fellow Xymox enthusiests
that is will to converse about this great band, or to share their
experiences, or any paraphenalia, please write. It is lonely in this
part of the world. Would LOVE to see them perform here.
Thanks again, this has made my year.

Greetings
it was the night of november 22, my girlfriend and i were doing nothing, so
we decided to head to THE BANK, which is where, to our most pleasurable
surprise, we found youre band, we had never heard your music nor of your
existence, but in those melodies and in those pulsing beats, and i must
admit in your keyboardists beauty i was enraptured...a real band, talking
about real things, i loved it. she loved it to-my girlfriend that is...we
dont really listen to any gothic music, we went to hear some good 80s
music, i look forward to searching for Hidden Faces and i think Headclouds,
that one sounds good to, i'll leave u now, but before i go, my brother is
also in a band and he likes it when his fans leave their own faqs, i think
for his own pleasure although im not sure, so i'll just let u know that my
name is Alan Leon i'm 18 and my favorite bands are Depeche Mode, The Cure,
Erasure...ok, thats all, hope to see u live again sometime, tell your
keyboardist shes a goddess

I caught the show at the "Heaven and Hell" club in D.C. and really
enjoyed it .
I can see why all asociated with the band are excited about the new line up.
They sounded better than ever.
I gave Ronnie a few bottles of Wiskey, and he signed most of my discs.
(I have to admit, I probably overwelmed him with 10 cd covers.)
Anyway, I wanted to drop you a line and tell you what I thought of the
show. I bought 10 tickets, brought some friends, and wasn't
dissappointed. It was worth every penny.
Good luck to all.
Best Regards,
Bill

First of all congrats for your gig at the Paradiso ! I must say, a most

the wind was stronger" got played at the Millennium´s Crypt.
The new material, also more guitar driven, is just as good as
the old and more electronic one. Also bravo for Ronny´s admission that
he somehow lost his way with the dance stuff he made (I never got to
hear any of it), as most artists would just refer to it as an important
phase of their career, having experimented with their creative potential
and hundreds of more nice paraphrases like that....
What also struck as much as the concert a little bit later was the fact
that I could not find your album in Amsterdam. I tried all major and
minor stores, including Phulsur, but could not get hold of it. This is
really the weird thing about Amsterdam: it has such a wild image, it´s
often cutting edge for the House stuff, and yet if you´re into
Independent, New Wave, Gothic etc..., then often English and German
small towns have to offer the same or even more. Conclusion: I should
have known better by now and bought it straight away !
I think this is really when you notice that you are
living in the electronic age, send the artist a mail if you can´t get
his record in the stores......anyways, thanx again for a great evening
Looking forward to hearing from you (electronically and in concert)
Cheers
Olaf

I just saw Xymox at Club Luna in Baton Rouge, LA
I had never heard of the band b4, but two of my friends said it would be
a really awesome show and boy were they right!!!
I truly enjoyed the show, but I thin the best part was meeting the band
after the show!!!
Everyone was so nice and the bassist is really cute!!!
Your new fan

I caught their show this past Thurs. 13 at Atomic Cafe. I was front row
looking up at Ronny. And at the end of the night before he walked off the
stage I reached out and touched his leg. I was so excited because he
actually pointed directly at me and Thanked me! I have been on such a
natural high since then. I thought someone who is such a huge fan
should know, and would be the only one to know my high.

Hi! I'm Myles and we met at your New York show at The Bank on Nov. 22.
I just have to say that I think you and your band put on a great show that
evening. It was also great that you were so easy to talk to and that you were
so friendly with everyone. Considering the fact that you have been in the
music business for a long time and for you to have the friendly attitude you
have with everyone is quite amazing.
I still think that you have the most beautiful voice I have ever heard!!
Sincerely,
Myles

Greetings
it was the night of november 22, my girlfriend and i were doing nothing, so
we decided to head to THE BANK, which is where, to our most pleasurable
surprise, we found youre band, we had never heard your music nor of your
existence, but in those melodies and in those pulsing beats, and i must
admit in your keyboardists beauty i was enraptured...a real band, talking
about real things, i loved it. she loved it to-my girlfriend that is...we
dont really listen to any gothic music, we went to hear some good 80s
music, i look forward to searching for Hidden Faces and i think Headclouds,
that one sounds good to

Comments sent to me from the Utah goth email list.
"I
had a fantastic time!! However, for a while I was put through torture when the
two morons flailing fliers and shouting "XYMOX" got up front and ended up standing
right next to me. I'm happy to see that Pieter is back with the band (he makes
me swoon). Although I didn't get the chance to have photos taken with Ronny
or Mojca (I am envious of you, Jeff)" "Gads . . . I *adore* Xymox. So here I
am with 30+ pictures, Ronny's water bottle, autographs, no sleep, my hair still
up in these swirly things, and I'm building a Clan of Xymox shrine in the corner
of my studio!!!!" " I got the pen that Mojca was using to sign autographs with
and I got the keyboardist to sign the cd I bought, which is not a promo for
a new album as I had ignorantly (is that a word?) thought. I already built my
Xymox shrine last night... Wanna swap for Ronny's water bottle? aaahhhh Ronny's
spit....*sigh* Lucky goth! Ronny actually spelled out my name! "For Jeff.....Ronny."
*Sigh*" "What was really fantastic for me was the fact that there was a little
bit of water left in his bottle; I finished it for him! I did have Mojca's beer
bottle as well, but security wouldn't let me leave with it. If I had thought
about that, I would've hidden it." "The two people who were with me at the show
were making fun of how flustered I was when meeting the band. This is why I
didn't get my picture taken with Ronny - I just wasn't *thinking*!!! I had my
camera IN MY HAND!!" "Just think.. you could say, "I got this cold from Ronny!
I'm never going to get well again! I'm never going to throw away this used kleenex!"
